FAQs

We chose the name Sie because we wanted a word that represents females (our initial focus), but doesn’t exclude other groups. Our long-term vision is to extend the platform to under-represented groups in the founder and investor ecosystem, making Sie - which means so many things - apt for our objective. In German, Sie means:
“she” (nominative feminine singular),
“they” (nominative plural, no distinction between masculine and feminine),
“her” (accusative singular) for a female person (or “it” in English for a feminine thing in German),
“them” (accusative plural, no distinction between masculine and feminine).
It is also the courtesy pronoun for “you”, similar to “vous” in French.

Submit your company on our website here (please check eligibility first before submitting). We will go through all applications as and when they are submitted. If you pass our first due diligence stage, we will contact you to set up more calls to get to know you better, and make sure Sie is the right fit for you. You can apply any time but our next Cohort will kick off in March 2025. The applications open in December, 9th and are open until 1st of March. We review and shortlist applicants on a weekly basis from 9th of December onwards, the sooner you apply the better.

Submit your interest to become a Venture Community member and support our founders by applying here. As part of the program we will match you with a relevant founder(s) based on your investment criteria and sector expertise. Joining Sie Venture Community as mentor means that you dedicate certain hours over 8 weeks and support one or more founders that we will match you with. The commitment is 30 mins a week minimum.
-
The Sie Catalyst Program runs for 8 weeks but our founders will get lifelong access to the highly vetted Sie Founder Community as alumni once the program is complete. In this community the Sie Team as well as the alumni community continue to help you build your business and is by your side for your next fundraises ahead. We host sessions and get-togethers throughout the year to support our founders scaling their businesses.
-
We have worked hard to build the most founder-friendly model and therefore we do not take equity. However, we put a lot of work and resources into the program and therefore there is a one off fee of £1,000 (+VAT) to join the 8-week program to ensure all companies are given the opportunity to pitch to the Sie Syndicate, but no investment is guaranteed.

Applications for Cohort VI open on the 9th of December and are open until 1st of March. You should always apply before the deadline because we are looking through the investment opportunities on weekly basis, however, please ensure program timelines make sense for your fundraising journey. We can only invest in a limited number of companies yearly through our Syndicate. We do our best to help you find a lead investor during the program, regardless of investment from Syndicate as this is the mission of Sie Catalyst - to help founders build a strong cap table.
-
Sie operates predominantly across Europe and our HQ is based in the UK.

Our program is mostly remote, all the sessions take place via Zoom. We want to simplify access to all UK and European companies. We host a few in-person sessions in London.
-
Approximately 4h a week, in total around 32h over 8 weeks but we expect you to do more work beyond these hours e.g work on your data room and pitch deck & storytelling, your financials, build your investor list etc.
-
Absolutely! We look at equitable ownership between the co-founders.
The program participant should be a female founder but we open up some sessions to your co-founder. All sessions are recorded as well, so you can always share them with your co-founder. -
We count every cheque that goes to our founders. To date we have seen 50+ companies close funding rounds with support from Sie Catalyst Program and raising £150M in capital to date. We have seen 140 cheques from our VC and angel community since we launched in 2021. Our NPS score is 9.5 across the programs. We encourage you to speak to our Alumni!
