Join Sie Syndicate

Sie Syndicate invests into tech-enabled startups in the UK and the rest of Europe with at least one female founder. We typically invest into pre-seed and seed stage companies with at least an MVP in the market.

After you have filled in the application form, we will setup an introductory call with you to learn about you and your investment preferences and share how we work at Sie.

Then you will be required to self certify as either a HNWI or sophisticated investor (see angel-investor-accreditation here for more details).

Once the required paperwork has been signed, you will be added to our network of investors and we will send you deals as and when they become available.

There is an FCA regulatory framework for angel investing that both protects the Angel and the entrepreneurs they invest into.

Before we can send you any deals or receive any investments from you, you will need to ensure that you are self-certified as either a High Net Worth or Sophisticated Investor, as defined by the FCA under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).

As a certified high net worth individual you confirm that you either:

• In the last financial year have had an annual income of £100,000 or more. (Income does not include any one-off pension approvals).

• In the last financial year, you have had net assets of £250,000 or more. (Net assets do not include: your home (primary residence), your pension (or any pension withdrawals) or any rights under qualifying contracts of insurance.)

As a certified sophisticated investor you confirm one of the following:

• You have been a member of a network or syndicate of business angels for more than 6 months

• You have been the director of a company with an annual turnover of at least £1M

• You have worked in private equity or in the provision of finance for medium and small enterprises

As part of the onboarding process to Sie Syndicate, we will require that you sign a self certification.

• Invitation to join at least 10 highly vetted female-led deals (out of approx. 1,500 decks received) per annum.

• AccesS to ie Ventures events each year, where the syndicate member will get the opportunity to network with other Sie Angels, VCs, exceptional female founders and Sie partner companies.

• Early access to all Sie Ventures Catalyst program companies.

• The ability to be a part of the thriving ecosystem of Sie Ventures exceptional founders and aligned investors!

We currently have about 150 angels and counting. We have angels from all walks of life - exited founders, operators in startups and scale-ups, corporate executives and people who just believe in our mission and want to be a part of the movement supporting women founders.

You can choose how involved or hands-off you want to be. We have a screening committee that helps us with looking at deals and also experts that help us in each vertical: fintech, healthcare, future of work and sustainability. If you wish to be a part of any of those just let us know during your introductory call and we can onboard you

We typically ask for a minimum investment of £5k per deal per investor.

We host events throughout the year with our founders and investors that we can invite you to once you are on boarded. This gives you a chance to meet exceptional female founders and network with other aligned investors.
