About the Role
The role of an Operations Intern is to support and enhance the efficiency and productivity of Sie Ventures. You’ll be working closely with our Head of Operations, supporting across various areas of the business including content, marketing, community management, event planning & logistics, portfolio support and process design & optimisation. The role is intentionally broad but with a focus on scale and efficiency.
Work Pattern:
Length: 3 months, with option to extend if all parties agree
Location: Remote but events will occur in-person
Hours: Flexible but must overlap with the Sie team.
Start date: ASAP or dependant on candidate
Responsibilities & Duties
Events:
Sie Raise Summit ~ this is our flagship event, happening again on 19th March 2024 (see last year’s write-up here). Support will involve creating welcome packs & assets, reviewing applicants, supporting on the day.
Supporting on ad-hoc in-person and virtual events ~ asset creation, copywriting, sharing with founder community, promoting amongst wider Sie network on socials, email and newsletter.
Content & Marketing:
Social Media ~ creating content for LinkedIn & Twitter, sharing relevant articles once a week, re-sharing founder news and generally owning content creation.
Quarterly Newsletter & Medium ~ creating and managing a cadence for long-form content (e.g ‘Why We Invested in X Medium series) and sourcing relevant content for our newsletter, formatting and distribution using Mailchimp.
Marketing Administration ~ creating marketing assets when needed, reviving our one-pager & decks where needed.
Platform Management:
Network Management ~ specifically improving our processes to better manage our growing network and facilitate & track introductions.
Community Onboarding ~ ensuring new joiners are effectively onboarded to all of our systems.
Notion Hub ~ owning our Community Hub, ensuring it's kept up to date and useful to founders, managing the contact & skill data-base
Sharing relevant, interesting articles and resources to the community ~ e.g grant funding, new funds, founder news.
Communicating Sie updates to founders via Slack ~ i.e events, opportunities, partner information.
Preferred Candidate:
It goes without saying that the candidate should be deeply connected to our mission and highly motivated to drive change in the ecosystem. If you’re incredibly organised, executional and interested in starting your own company one day, we’d love to hear from you.
You will be working in a startup environment reporting directly to the founding team members. As with any early-stage startup environment there is a fair bit of uncertainty and ambiguity in the role. We encourage and expect you to ask questions wherever you don’t understand a task (we’re here to help), take ownership of your work, embrace the autonomy and propose solutions to problems where you see fit (we value new thinking!) .
The role will be remote and hours can be worked flexibly as long as there is overlap with the team at agreed upon times including our team meeting.
We made enormous progress in 2023 (see our recap here) and have huge plans for 2024! If this excites you, we'd love to hear from you!
To apply, please send your CV and an example of an early stage company/app/product that you really like and why to jess@sie.ventures.
